A reinterpretation of an iconic Cole & Son geometric print, Painted Prism Sample transforms the precision of the original design through a distinctly painterly approach. Drawn from the graphic language of the archive, its kaleidoscopic forms are softened by hand-rendered brushwork, introducing movement, texture and an expressive sense of craft to the repeat.
Inspired by the curated colours of an archival ColesÕ paint card, its prismatic palette lends warmth and depth to the design, allowing each shape to feel individually painted. Layers of colour overlap and settle across the surface, creating the impression of a contemporary mural worked directly onto the wall.
Balancing structure with spontaneity, Painted Prism celebrates the meeting of geometry and gesture. Familiar in its foundations yet entirely reimagined in its expression, the design offers a softer, more tactile interpretation of pattern that feels both artistic and architectural.
