Cole & Son’s fabric collections take design icons from the House’s vast portfolio and present them in a range of luxurious bases.
Designed to enhance a variety of interior schemes and settings with eye-catching palettes and striking patterns, these textiles showcase how you can use Cole & Son wallpaper as an anchor point from which to layer colour and pattern in a range of hues and scale. Utilising Cole & Son’s ‘3 Cs’ design philosophy, combining wallpaper and fabric allows you to create your very own unique, personalised interior.
COORDINATE
Matching wallpaper and fabric can conjure visions of a dated decor, but that does not have to be the case. Take the maximalist approach to decorating and use matching wallpaper and fabric in vibrant colours for all-out impact. Or use the same design in complementary colour palettes for a considered look.
Equally, layering matching wallpapers and fabrics in soft, neutral palettes has its own advantages and can create a seamlessly serene and tranquil space without feeling dreary or drab.
COMPLEMENT
The consistency of a tonal palette can allow you to be braver with pattern, such as pairing the geometric Pompeian and paisley Rajapur designs. The complementary hues of dark pewter and bronze from the wallpaper complement the warm, rich red-brown of the crimson fabric and help harmonise the two opposing design styles. Pairing a geometric and a paisley isn’t always the first thing that comes to mind, but the complementary colour palette, with pops of solid colour, bring the look together.
Similarly, taking the opulent metallic tones of a design like Afrika Kingdom and combining it with heavy jacquard fabrics such as Tile and Feather Fan gives an entertaining space real glamour.
CONTRAST
Equally, using complementary design styles gives you room to be braver with contrasting palette combinations. The trick is to have one consistency, whether it be palette or design, and then you can play around with the other.
Hummingbirds in the Classic Multi colourway is a perfect example. It features subtle accents of soft chartreuse which are accentuated when pairing with the vivid chartreuse & white Cow Parsley wallpaper, this is then offset with the rich navy panelling.
